Pastor Doug Brown – 68

Of Valdosta passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Phenix City, AL to the late Willie and Katie Bryant Brown. Mr Brown obtained his undergraduate degree at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL and graduate degree at the Assembly of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, MD. He served 13 years as a Foreign Missionary in Latin America, as pastor in Murrayville, GA for 12 years and then moved to Valdosta and planted what is now The Rock Church where he continued to pastor until January of 2010. He also served as Presbyter of the Valdosta Section of the Georgia District Assemblies of God.

Survivors Include: Wife of 50 years, Ann Brown, Valdosta, GA; Daughter, Leann Brown, Marietta, GA; 2 Sons & Daughters-in-law, Mark & Diana Brown, Lakeland, FL, Kevin & Laura Brown, Fayetteville, AR; Grandchildren: Britney, Hunter, Cameron, Jordan and Bailey; 2 Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Shirley & Billy King, Phenix City, AL, Wanda & Bob Lathrop , Phenix City, AL and a number of nieces and nephews

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 19, 2010 in The Rock Church with the Rev. Rick Collins, Rev. Mike McBride and Rev. Glen Starling officiating. Pastor Brown will be placed in the church one hour prior to the services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday night, July 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in the Lake View Memorial Gardens in Phenix City, AL. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
