Patti L Simpson – 82
Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in Louis Smith Hospital in Lakeland after a brief illness. She was born on May 10, 1931 to Emmett and Louise Taylor Lanier in Cuthbert, GA. She graduated from the University of Georgia. Mrs. Simpson was an avid golfer at Valdosta Country Club where her golfing friends were very special to her and she also enjoyed reading and playing the card game Bridge. She was a member of the Lakeland United Methodist Church in Lakeland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Simpson III, by a daughter, Patricia Suzanne Simpson, and by a granddaughter, Elizabeth Lee.
Her survivors include, 3 Sons & Daughters-in-Law, Tommy & Debbie Simpson of Lakeland, GA; Bert & Judy Simpson of Lakeland, GA; Harold & Kay Simpson of Lakeland, GA; 1 Daughter & Son-in-Law, Ann & Larry Lee of Lakeland, GA; Grandchildren, Will & Cindy Simpson II, Kyle Simpson, Nichole Manuel, Taylor Simpson, Alex & Kristie Lee, Mary Carol & Kemp Greene; Great Grandchildren, Jack & Will Greene, Zach & Layne Lee; and Special Friends, Shirley Corbitt and Clara Ganas.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 28, 2014 in the Lakeland United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Music Funeral Services in Lakeland. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
