Paul H. Layton – 89

Of Lake City, FL passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 in the Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL after a brief illness. He was born March 10, 1927 in Adel, GA to the late William Thomas & Effie Kirkland Layton. He worked as a diesel mechanic for many years with Scruggs Concrete Company and Hugh Blanton Auto Parts. He was Baptist by faith. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 3 children, Martha Holmes, Kenny Layton & Roger Layton, 2 brothers, Arthur Layton & Billy Layton and sister, Cheryl Layton.

Survivors Include: wife of 69 years, Lois Virginia Layton, Lake City, FL; 3 daughters & son-in-law: Dawn Layton, Lake City, FL, Tammy & Lamar Courson, Lake City, FL, Salina Rumker, Dothan, AL; son, Rick Layton, Lake City, FL; 16 grandchildren & a number of great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Grace Scarborough, Adel, GA, Judy Weldon, Meriwether County, GA; brother & sister-in-law, Tom & Sara Layton, Lithia Springs, GA and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 13, 2016 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Cecil, GA.
