Paul Leon Johnson

June 23, 1926 — August 30, 2011

Of Stockton, passed away Tuesday morning, August 30, 2011 at the Langdale Hospice House after a brief illness. He was born June 23, 1926 to the late Leon and Mae Timmerman Johnson in Lanier County. He was superintendent of Lee Engineering for 30 plus years before retiring in 1991. After retirement he served on the Lanier County Tax Assessor Board for some time. Paul was a member of Stockton Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon. He was also a member of the Lanier County Historical Society, Masonic Lodge #434, and election poll administrator. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Eva Suelyn Johnson; two brothers, Harold D. Johnson, & Robert R. Johnson; one brother-in-law, Laverne Clanton.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011 in the Stockton Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Stockton Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 262 Church Rd, Attn: Cemetery Fund, Stockton, GA 31649. Music Funeral Services of Lakeland is serving the family.
