Pauline Avery

Pauline Avery – 74 of Lakeland passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at her residence after an apparent heart attack. She was born on January 25, 1944 in Pearson, GA to the late Ben & Rachel (Morgan) Mercer. Pauline attended Flat Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Berrien County. She loved traveling, attending gospel sings, watching wrestling and shopping. Before retirement, she worked as an CNA at Berrien Nursing Center. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Avery and brother, Ben Mercer.
Survivors Include: Husband of 52 years, Johnny Avery, Lakeland; Daughter: Paula Avery, Lakeland; Sisters & Brother-in-law : Clara Mercer, Douglas, GA, Kathleen Griffis, Douglas, GA, Carlene Walker, Tifton, GA, Christine Rawles(Charlie), Jacksonville, FL; Fur Babies: Dog: Smokey; Cats: Thunder & Lighting and a number of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 30, 2018 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, July 29, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and also on Monday 1 hour prior to the services.
