Of Lakeland, GA passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in the Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 28, 1926 in Avon Park, FL to the late Leroy L. Carter & Lou Annie Webb Carter. She was a Cadet in the Grady Nursing Program where she graduated in 1947. She worked as a Registered Nurse for a Total of 38 years. She worked at Moody Air Force Base Hospital for 29 years, Central Georgia Railroad Hospital in Savannah, GA, Dr. Dan Terry in Homerville, GA, Smith Hospital in Hahira, GA, and Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland, GA. After retiring she and her husband owned and operated the Bed and Breakfast known as the "Jones Hotel" for 10 Years. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Lanier Cancer Society, and The Red Hat Society. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother LL Carter Jr., and her husband Robert E. Bobby Jones, Sr.
