Peter Devenyi

Peter Devenyi passed away with his loving family by his side, at 5:15 am on March 16, 2018 at the age of 78. He fought courageously against bladder cancer. He always won his battles but, sadly lost this one. He was a giving and loving man, he was everything that was right in the world. There will be a great void in all of our lives without him.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, he moved to the United States on his own at the age of 16 and has been a fiercely independent, strong and successful business man.

Peter was a loving, kind and generous man who was committed to his family and friends. He was a proud veteran, having served his country in the Army in 1962 for two years during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

He was the devoted grandfather of Jacob and Jared Effinger, and Allie, Emma and Christian DeMarco. Beloved husband of nearly 38 years to Kristine (Fuchs) Devenyi, Peter was the loving father of the late Brian Devenyi, Carrie (Devenyi) Effinger and step-father of Justin DeMarco and the late Christian DeMarco.

He will also be sadly missed by his daughter-in-law, Beth DeMarco, son-in-law, Rick Effinger, first wife, Phyllis Kreiger, and extended family and cherished friends.

We will forever miss and love you! Until we meet again.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Langdale Hospice House.
