Peter John Solberg

Peter John Solberg – 60 of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Wednesday September 16, 2020 at home. Peter was born on June 9, 1960 in Frankfurt, Germany to Carol Ann (Vondrashek) Solberg and the late Anthony Maurice Solberg. Peter attended James Madison University and graduated from Valdosta State University. He married Patricia Eileen Hearn on November 5, 1983 and they had three children—Amanda, Anthony, and Kathrine. Peter retired as a MSgt after faithfully serving his country for twenty-five years in the United States Air Force. He continued to serve his country afterward as a civil servant contracting officer. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Peter could tell a story like no other and his stories are already greatly missed. He was a simple, dedicated family man and a true friend to many who have known him throughout the years.
Survivors include his mother Carol Solberg of Bel Air, MD; his loving wife, Patricia Solberg of Valdosta, GA; his daughter Amanda Solberg-Bowen & her husband Drew Bowen of Watkinsville, GA; his son Anthony Solberg, his wife Jessica Solberg, & their children Elizabeth & Alice Quinn of Valdosta, GA; his daughter Kathrine Solberg & her partner Andrew DeLong of Central Point, OR; his sister Kathyrn Bailey & her husband Kevin Bailey of Bel Air, MD; his brother Mark Solberg & his wife Kim Solberg of Havre de Grace, MD; his sister Barb Solberg & her partner Lisa Niner of Fallston, MD; and his sister Jeanne Thibeault & her husband John Thibeault of Hunt Valley, MD. He is survived by the following nephews and nieces: Patrick Bailey, Rob (Laura) Solberg, Daniel (Alex) Bailey, David (Mal) Solberg, Sara (Erik) Brown, Samantha Thibeault, and Kyle Thibeault. He is also survived by the following great niblings: Eloise, Thomas, and Lucy.
Peter was preceded in death by his father Anthony Maurice Solberg of Bel Air, MD.
He was beloved by his wife Patricia’s father and mother, James and Eileen Hearn of Buffalo, NY and their entire family.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 10, 2020 in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. Entombment will follow in the Riverview Mausoleum immediately after services. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home on Friday, October 9, 2020. Peter will receive full military honors for the exemplary service and dedication shown during his time in the United States Air Force. The family requests social distancing measures be practiced, masks be worn, and no formal receptions will take place after services.
