Phillip Manuel Norman, Sr., 85, of Stockton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, Georgia.
Born on August 11, 1940, in MacClenny, Florida, Phillip was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 60 loving years of marriage with his wife, Roselyn Walker Norman. Their life together was built on love, faith, and a deep dedication to family.
He was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. Over the years, he worked as an auto mechanic, heavy equipment operator, box machine mechanic, and ironworker. He was known for his ability to fix anything and for his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Phillip proudly served his country in the United States Army. He entered active duty in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1960 due to a family hardship.
Phillip was a man of strong faith who loved the Lord and lived his life by those values. He had a deep love for music and found joy in playing at church and at home—something many will fondly remember about him—as well as listening, sharing, and connecting with others through it. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Samuel Norman and Edna Bell Prevatt Norman; his sisters, Christine Potter and Shirley McKinney; his brother, David Lee Norman; and his granddaughter, Stephanie Robinson and great-grandchild, River Chapman.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Roselyn Walker Norman; and his children: Tina Norman, Gina Norman, Paul Norman (Lynn), Phillip Norman, Jr. (Yvonne), Sheila Flowers (Scott), and Sharon “Sherry” Griffin (Harry).
He is also survived by his siblings, Sammy Norman (Carol) and Tommie Sue Davis (Eddie).
His grandchildren include Chelsea Tomlinson (Kevin), Valerie Wickboldt (Steven), Keegan Norman (Laura), Thomas Angell (Angela DeBoer), Kaitlyn Chapman, Emerald Quiroz, Christyn Challender, Sydney Mullis (Josh), Dalton Griffin (Christine), Angel O’Brian (James), Lilli Brown (Jason), Levi Griffin, Cameron Norman, Brittany Robinson, and Payton Adams.
His great-grandchildren include: Kaiden Chapman, Marcela Quiroz, Maya DeBoer, Wesley Wickboldt, Wyatt Wickboldt, Hallah DeBoer, Charlotte Chapman, Phoebe Wickboldt, August Brown, Walker Chapman, Leilana Brown, Layla Brown, McKinley Griffin, Elias Brown, Kalia Chapman, Eloise Griffin, and Theodore Brown.
Phillip leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, faith, and dedication to family that will continue through all who knew and loved him.
