Of Valdosta passed away early Friday afternoon May 11, 2007 in South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. Mr. Sellers was born June 2, 1940 to the late Casper & Kathryn Sellers, he attended Valdosta High School & was a member of the Valdosta Wildcats football team. He served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1967 aboard the U.S.S. Mason, The U.S.S. Taylor, & the U.S.S. Elite in Japan & Hawaii. After returning to Valdosta he began a career with the Valdosta Fire Department where he worked for 27 years and retired in 1997. He was a member of the Bemiss Road Baptist Church in Valdosta, GA and loved spending time with his Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl W. Sellers & Donald R. Sellers.
Survivors include: Daughters & Son-in-Law, Terri Mock, Valdosta, Wendy & Shannon Hart, Berlin, GA; Grandchildren: Tyler Hart, Noah Moore, Shanna Hart, Kelsey Mock; Sisters & Brothers-in-Law, Dana Joyce & Jerry Legette, Valdosta, Mary Kaye Perry, Lake Park, a number of nieces, nephews, and a very close cousin, Steve Fender.
Funeral Services were held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, May 14, 2007, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Benevolence Baptist Church Cemetery.
