Phyllis Carter

Phyllis Carter – 75 of Valdosta, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on April 1, 1942 in Valdosta, GA to the late Fonzie and Vera Mae (Johnson) Sweat. She was a retired associate from Goodwill and was of the Church of Christ faith. She loved spending time with her family and reading. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Sweat.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, James “Tommy” Carter of Valdosta, GA; son, Michael T. Carter of Valdosta, GA; son, Ricky Carter of Valdosta, GA; daughter, Kim Carter Vinson (Franklin) of Valdosta, GA; son, Lorne Craig Carter of Valdosta, GA; son, Reagan J. Carter (Jana Leigh) of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren: Britany & Jordan Patten, Michael Carter, Ricky Carter, Jr., Candice E. Carter, Kyle & Brittney Nolan, Jessica & James Tutt, Dusty Carter, Dylan Carter, Dara Carter; Great Grandchildren: Carter Patten, Lennex Patten, Trevor Carter, Austin Carter, Ava Carter, Mackenzye Epler, Brayden Epler, Landyn Folsom, Cameron J. Anderson, Wilkes Nolan, Kaylynn Tutt, Adelyn Tutt, Elena Sanchez; sister, Hazel Christine Swanson (Paul) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
