R. David Burch

Of Lakeland, GA passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital. He was born April 15, 1952 in Coffee County to Lola Rawlins Burch of Douglas and the late Aubrey Burch. He graduated from Coffee County High School in 1970. After High School he attended South Georgia College where he received his associates degree. Then he continued his education at the University of Georgia where he received his pharmacy degree in 1977. He was employed as a pharmacist for several years until April of 1986. He then opened Burch Discount Drugs which he owned and operated until his death. David was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lakeland and Rayonier Hunting Club. He was a loving Son, Husband, Father& Friend. All who knew David enjoyed his humor, laughter and his ability to make everyone smile.

A celebration of David's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009 in the First Baptist Church of Lakeland with the Rev. John Bracken officiating. He will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. in the Douglas City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, June 5, 2009 from 6-8 p.m.
