Of Echols County, GA passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on August 25, 1944 in Lanier County to the late Clifford Fender and Dorothy (Westberry) Fender. He retired from the Echols County Road Department. He loved to hunt and fish. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Vonda Faye Fender, Brother, James Fender, Sister, Ann Fender Walker, Grandson, Lawrence Hickman and Son-in-law, Wesley Rogers.
Survivors include: Son and Daughter-in-law, Donald R. and Tami Lynn Fender of Lakeland, GA; Daughter, Sherry Fender James of Statenville, GA; Daughter and Son-in-law, Tina Fender Hickman (Bryan) of Ray, OH; Son, Dwayne L. Fender of Lake Park, GA; Grandchildren: Robert Ryan Fender, Anthony Gage Fender, Megan Lynn Marks (Caleb), Leslie Sealey (Brian), Tyler Rogers, Aaron Rogers, Ty Hickman, Austin Hunter Fender, Landon Tyson Fender; Great Grandchildren: Everette, Barrett, Blaine, Drew, Madison, Kelsee, Wesley; Brother, Alton Knocker Fender (Brenda) of Dupont, GA; Sister, Oma Jean Strickland of Statenville, GA; Sister, Peggy Commander of Statenville, GA; Special Nephew, Larry Scooter Fender of Dupont, GA; Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Extended family members.
Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com . In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
