Ralph M. Pierce

Ralph Marion Pierce died Wednesday, May 8 , after A long illness. He was born January 31, 1934 to Charlie and Pearl Bass Pierce who have both predeceased him many years earlier. He was also predeceased by his elder sister, Alice Pierce Howington, who moved to the Atlanta area after her marriage to Leon Howington, also deceased. Most of the Pierce and Bass families lived in the Valdosta area and that is where Ralph lived the larger portion of his life after living in the Atlanta area for just a few years from about 1962 to about 1966. He served in the Navy before he married Jane Howington Pierce in 1957, whom he divorced many years later and who also predeceased him in May 2012. Their surviving children are: Tracey Pierce Perkins, and her husband Jeff, James Matthew Pierce Matt and Ralph Marion Pierce, Jr. Marty and his wife, Yvonne. There are 5 surviving grandchildren and one great grandson: Joshua Perkins and wife, Ashley, Jason Perkins and wife, Rebecca, and son, Eli, and Katy Perkins, Emily Pierce, and Benjamin Pierce. Mr. Pierce's body was taken to Music Funeral Home in Lakeland and the funeral service will be at Unity Methodist Church on Hwy 122 in Lakeland on Friday, May 10m at 11:00 am.
