Randall Page Ritter, age 83, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. Randall was born on December 20, 1939, in Iota, Louisiana to Evans Ritter and Helen Cart Ritter. He joined the U.S. Army after high school and was stationed in Germany, where he met his bride of 61 years. Randall worked as a Police officer in Orange, Texas for 8 years starting in the mid-1960s. He moved his family of 4 to Valdosta, Georgia in 1974 where he worked for Owens-Illinois in Clyattville, Georgia for several years in Human Resources before transferring with the company and eventually returning to Valdosta for retirement. He graduated from Valdosta State College in 1977 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Randall enjoyed traveling the USA and spending time with family in Louisiana and Germany. He was a wonderful loving father, Paw Paw, brother, cousin, and friend to all who knew him. His smile, laughter, and upbeat personality will long be remembered. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Gerald Ritter and Michael Ritter, sister-in-law Helen “Shug” Ritter, brother and sister-in-law Walter and Inge Bonn.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie Ritter of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Frank (Tina) Ritter of Valdosta; daughter, Mary Ann (Larry) Eason of Lake Park, Georgia; grandchildren: Tony (Amanda) Ritter of Valdosta; Courtney (Benjamin) Coors of Evergreen, Colorado; Amber Murrell of Valdosta; Heather (Chandler) Kramer of Stuttgart, Germany; Chad (Keri) Eason, Clyattville, Georgia; “adopted” granddaughter, Ashley Long, Calhoun, Georgia; great-grandchildren: Jon Ragan Ritter, Sidney Kramer, Kayden Adams, S.J. Ervin, Graycie Eason, Jolene (Joshua) Smith, Caleb Eason, Zeplin and Jensen Long, and Elvie King; brothers: Wayne Ritter, Victor Ritter, and Rickie Ritter all of Iota, Louisiana; sister Sandra Ritter of Iota, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins in the USA and Germany.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 10, 2023, in the Valdosta chapel of Music Funeral Services. Family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Kind words and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at
