Ramon “Ray” Perez – 38 of Valdosta, GA passed away on Thursday November 21, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born on May 24, 1981 in Miami, FL to the late Ramon Perez and Minerva “Diaz” Perez of Hialeah, FL. Ray was a teacher for migrant students for the Lowndes County School System. While he had many hobbies, his greatest enjoyment was following his boys around in every sport or school activity they had. He exemplified what a father should be.
He is survived by His spouse: Chris Hiers-Perez of Valdosta, GA; 2 Sons: Caleb Perez of Valdosta, GA, Elijah Perez of Valdosta, GA; Mother: Minerva Perez of Hialeah, FL; Sisters: Sonia Aleman of Boston, MA, Maria Aleman-Aron (Michelle Aron) of Boston, MA; Brother: Eduardo Perez (Evelyn Anpuero) of Hialeah, FL; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law: Jimmy and Avy Hiers of Valdosta, GA and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, November 25, 2019 at St. John Catholic Church. As per Ray’s wishes he will cremated following services. The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 7 PM on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at
