Rebecca Emily Kennedy – 63
Of Valdosta, GA was suddenly called home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Shand’s Hospital in Gainesville, FL. She was born on January 7, 1954 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Kenneth and Francis Herring Moore. Tommy and Rebecca were married on September 5, 1972 in Nashville, GA. They were happily married for 45 glorious years. She was of the Baptist faith. Rebecca was very family oriented and devoted her life to loving her husband, family and dogs. She worked for Lowndes County School System for 12 years. She never met a stranger and always had a beautiful smile on her face especially when she was spending time with all children, which was one of her many passions. She truly had a beautiful soul.
Survivors include: Husband, Tommy Kennedy of Valdosta, GA., Twin sons, Russell Kennedy of Coeburn, VA., David & Vanessa Kennedy (Gail) of Valdosta, GA., Daughter & Son-in-law Paula & Jeremy Cooper (baby Huey) of Valdosta, GA., Baby Boy Andy Kennedy & Fiancé Debi Bellflowers Hahira, GA., Grandchildren: Dillan Kennedy, Austin Kennedy, her “little sweet pea” Kali Kennedy and Khloe Sirmans. Keith Moore of Statenville, GA., Jenny & Randy Jenkins ,Valdosta, GA., Ruth Flanders Valdosta, GA Cheryl Brimer Valdosta, GA., and several nieces and nephews along with several great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and who loved her dearly.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Good Hope Cemetery in Naylor, GA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralserivces.com .
