Of Valdosta passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at Langdale Hospice House after a brief illness. Mrs. Williams was born on October 30, 1924 in Ware County to the late Jim & Mazella King Sturges. The widow of the late R.W. Williams, Jr., she was a home maker and a member of Fargo United Methodist Church. She loved to read, fish, and garden. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Oscar M. Williams and Son-in-law, Russell Simmons.
Survivors include:daughters and son-in-law:Faye Simmons, Valdosta, GA, Betty and Benny Cole, Valdosta, GA; Son and Daughter-in-law, Jerry and Robin Williams, Valdosta, GA, Daughter-in-law Joyce Williams Mixon, Fargo, GA.; Grandchildren: Cheryl Simmons Folsom Rick; Robert Simmons Stephanie;Jesse Cole Lorena; Lawrence Williams; Darrell Williams; Trella Williams; Kendra Glen Keith; and Caitlin Williams; Great grandchildren: Chance Folsom, Troy Simmons, Zackary Simmons, Dalton Simmons, Amanda Cole, Sarah Cole, Lexi Glen, Austin Glen, Rebecca Williams, and Lee Williams.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm Thursday afternoon at Ramah Cemetery in Clinch County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the funeral home.
