Retired M.Sgt. Dexter Joseph Scheeler – 80
Of Barney passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 in South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on March 19, 1931 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin to the late Alvin & Teresa Lindl Scheeler. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant. He was an Aircraft Mechanic Instructor for 20 years, working at a number of colleges around the country. He enjoyed fixing old cars, woodworking, and loved hunting and fishing. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Sonny Scheeler.
He is survived by his; Wife of 58 years, Joyce Scheeler, Barney, GA; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Diane & Dan Ross, Crystal Falls, Michigan, Linda & Danny Summers, Tallahassee, FL, Barbara Scheeler, Rhinelander, Wisconsin, Kate & Mark Childress, Crozet, VA; Sons & Daughters-in-law, David & Rhonda Scheeler, Alton, Illinois, William & Christy Scheeler, Morven, GA; 12 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Margie Witkiewicz, Milwaukee, WI; A number of Nieces and Nephews
The family will be having a private service at Morven Baptist Church at a later date.
