Retired Chief Master Sergeant Perry L. Hoffman

Retired Chief Master Sergeant Perry L. Hoffman - 46 of Valdosta, Ga. passed away Thursday Evening March 3, 2005 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Flint, Michigan on May 28, 1958. He served in the United States Air Force for 28 years. While serving his country he and his wife moved around the world seeing many places. He enjoyed his duties at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta the most, because as an avid sportsman he enjoyed South Georgia deer hunting. He had a great love for his country, after being saved this moved to be behind his love for God, and his family. He joined Bethany Baptist Church, claimed this congregation as his family, he served as a deacon and loved to sing. After retiring from the military he began working with The Scruggs Co in the Asphalt division as a Safety Manager. Mr. Hoffman worked with the Habitat for Humanity on numerous community projects. He was a member of the Heart of Georgia Corvair Club. He was preceded in death by his brother, Neil Hoffman.

Survivors Include: Wife, Donna Hoffman, Valdosta, Ga., Daughter and Son-in-law, Crystal and Steven Brant, Florence, Al., Sons and Daughters-in-law, James Lynn and Amanda Hargett, Florence, Al., William and Sherry Hargett, Grand Rapid, Mi., Father and Mother, Lawrence and Joyce Hoffman, Harrietta, Mi., 3 Brothers and Sisters-in-laws, Wade and Sandy Hoffman, Fife Lake, Mi., Scott and Lisa Hoffman, Palmetto, Fl., Christian and Kristine Hoffman, Kingsley, Mi., 6 Grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 7, 2005 in the Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Mr. Hoffman was placed in the church 1 hour prior to services. Graveside Services followed at 2:30 P.M. in the Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Ga. In lieu of Flowers please make donations to the Bethany Baptist Church, c/o Family Life Building Fund, 5064 Bethany Church Rd., Hahira, Ga. 31632.
