Retired SSgt Michael A. Cook - 52

Of Valdosta passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Harriman, TN on April 21, 1957 to Robert Eugene & Clara Mae Wright Cook of Augusta, GA. He was a crew chief of F4 Phantom Fighter Jets, Desert Storm Veteran and a member of the DAV. While serving his country he was stationed in many different areas including; Germany, Spain and Italy. After 19 years of serving his country in the United States Air Force he retired while stationed at Moody Air Force Base in 1993.

Along with his parents he is survived by his:Wife, Leona Cook, Valdosta, GA, Sons, Chris Cook, Valdosta, GA, Jason Cook, Valdosta, GA, Brother & Sister-in-law, Randy & Laurie Cook, Augusta, GA, A number of Nieces and Nephews

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2010 in Riverview Memorial Gardens with full military honors to be rendered. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, January 29, 2010 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue / Bob Hope Road
