Richard William Schade, age 72, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, at Langdale Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 11, 1954, in Queens, New York, Richard was the son of the late Robert William Schade SR and Marcella Yvonne Schade.

Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force for 24 years. He served in the role of a mechanic on F-4, A-10 and F-16 jets for 20 years. His noteworthy achievements include: 4 years aircraft superintendent, Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, and numerous other awards.

Upon completing his military career, Richard enjoyed fishing on the beach. He enjoyed serving and working around his church, St. Anthony of Padua. He received a Service Award Medal from the Diocese of Savannah. He loved his two granddaughters dearly; there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them.

Along with his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Schade; his sisters, Barbara Schade and Mary Schade.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 49 years, Araceli Schade, of Lakeland, Georgia. His son, Albert Schade (Ashley) of Lakeland, Georgia, his precious granddaughters, Sayla Schade and Abigail Schade of Lakeland, Georgia.

At a later date, a memorial service will be held to honor Mr. William Schade at St. Anthony de Padua, in Ray City, Georgia.
