Of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 5, 1935, in Stockton, GA, to the late Angus Bennett and Nelle Doris Bennett. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delila Scurrey "Pudd" Bennett, and his brother Raymond Bennett. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and Veteran in the United States Army. Mr. Bennett was Baptist by faith.
Survivors Include: Daughter, Tammy Highsmith of Valdosta, GA; Grandson & Granddaughter, William & Leah Baver of Starke, FL; Granddaughter & Grandson, Anna Maria & Shannon Goodrum of Morven, GA; 5 Great Grandchildren, Alexus Maria Goodrum, Dakota "Little Man" Goodrum, and Morgan Ann Goodrum of Morven, GA, Emma Baver, and Eden Baver of Starke, FL; 2 Sisters, Louise Blanton of Stockton, GA, and Doris Beaman of Littleton, CO; 3 Brothers, Lonnie Harris of Stockton, GA, Roy Neil Harris of Fernandina, FL, and Kenneth Harris of Fernandina Beach, FL; 2 Sisters-in-Law, Gayle Rozier of Valdosta, GA, Verna Looney of Valdosta, GA; 1 Brother-in-Law, M.A "Bubba" Scurrey of Valdosta, GA; A number of nieces and nephews.
As per his wishes, Cremation services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, June 28, 2012 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. prior to services. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
