Robert R. Brown – 86

Of Homerville, GA passed away Monday January 24, 2005 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Sanford, FL where he grew up, had lived in Homerville for over 50 years. He served his country in the Air Force during World War II spent 29 months in the China, Burma India area. He was employed with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad for 40 years as a freight agent retiring in 1978. He served on the Clinch County Draft Board for 25 years receiving a certificate of appreciation from the president. He also served on the Homerville City Council for 15 years. A mason for over 50 years member of Cassea Lodge # 474, a member of the Eastern Star Arcme Chapter # 101 a past patron of Magnolia Chapter # 514 eight times. An active member of the Homerville United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School for over 50 years, holding all other offices including being the district lay leader.

A memorial service was held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday January 26, 2005 in the Homerville United Methodist Church, with burial in Pine Forrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers make contributions to the Homerville United Methodist Church or Odyssey Health Care 1001 Williams St. Valdosta, GA 31601.
