He was born in Wildwood, FL on November 27, 1945 to the late Lee Clarence & Irene Lewis Carpenter. He was a member of Open Door Ministries. He was a brick mason by trade when not hunting or fishing.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 25, 2008 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the funeral home
