Robert Charles Chase, 67
of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on February 5, 2025, at his residence in Valdosta, Georgia. Robert was born on June 19, 1957, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Robert Owen Chase and Doris Mae Haynes.
Robert lived a life defined by hard work, unwavering dedication, and a deep love for his family and all those around him. With skilled hands and a strong work ethic, he spent many years as a carpenter before taking to the open road as a truck driver, building a legacy of reliability and perseverance that spanned the country. In his later years, he found solace in retirement, spending his final months in Valdosta, Georgia, surrounded by the warmth of his son Logan, daughter-in-law Talysa, and their family. Robert’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit endures in the countless lives he touched. The wisdom he shared, the kindness he showed, and the legacy of hard work he built will remain an everlasting tribute to the man he was. A devoted father, a steadfast friend, and a truly kind soul, Robert, was cherished by many. His warmth, generosity, and quick wit made him a source of joy to all who knew him. His easygoing nature and boundless kindness earned him the beloved nickname “Paw-Paw” from family and friends, including his step-grandchildren. By his side through it all was his loyal grand-pup, Chewie, who often curled up beside him, sharing a chair and embodying the gentle, loving spirit Robert brought into the lives of everyone around him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bessie Anders Hanyon; his brother, Donald Tofte; and his sister, Donna Chase. He is survived by his son, John Robert Logan Chase, and his daughter-in-law, Talysa Chase. He also leaves behind his sister, Victoria Ann Young of Imlay City, Michigan, whom he loved dearly, as well as numerous friends and extended family members who were blessed to have known him. A memorial service will be held in June for family and friends to gather in a beautiful celebration of life, remembering and honoring Robert’s legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert’s honor to support those affected by the wildfires in his home state of California in 2025. Contributions can be made by calling the Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767) or by texting CAWILDFIRES to 90999. Rest in peace, Robert. You were one of a kind—loved beyond measure and missed dearly. Your life made this world sweeter and safer for so many. We will carry you with us in our hearts wherever we go.
