Robert Fletcher – 69

Of Valdosta passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 in Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 5, 1940 in Lowndes County to the late Alton D. & Louise Brown Fletcher. Robert loved being outdoors. He had been an avid fisherman all his life. When Robert went fishing his faithful canine companion, Princess was always with him. At any given time you might ride by and find him on his mode of transportation, his tractor. He covered many miles on his tractor taking care of the farm. His quick wit and humorous nature were only a couple of his unique personality traits. Robert's family and friends were very important to him. He will be deeply missed. Mr. Fletcher served in the United States Navy for 8 years. He was employed as an electrician at Saft and then Davis Industrial Electric. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister & brother-in-law, Helen & Claude Carter.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 21, 2009 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Chaplain Skip Van Nus officiating. Burial will follow in Swilley Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the funeral home.
