Robert "Bob" Flumerfelt – 95
Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at his residence. He was born on March 30, 1920 in Columbus, OH to the late William & Nellie Davenport Flumerfelt. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. During the war he was stationed in Germany where he met his lifelong sweetheart of more than 65 years, Ruth Alice Lotte Merkel Flumerfelt. After he returned to the states he earned his degree in Chemistry and Laboratory Technology. He retired from Oswego Hospital in Oswego, NY and then moved to Valdosta where he worked with South Georgia Medical Center until retirement. Following retirement he could be found tinkering on his 1978 Ford Thunderbird and 1965 Ford Mustang. Having witnessed the rise of automobiles and moving pictures he was fascinated with old cars and old movie actors. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Valdosta, The John Birch Society and the American Legion. He considered himself a lifelong patriot. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Flumerfelt, sister, Ann Humphrey and brother, William Flumerfelt.
His survivors include 4 Sons & Daughters-in-law: Mike & Linda Flumerfelt, Altmar, NY, Mark & Denise Flumerfelt, Plant City, FL, Matt & Cosima Flumerfelt, Valdosta, GA, Bob Flumerfelt, Thomasville, GA; 3 Grandchildren: Aaron Flumerfelt Brittany, Corinne Bradley and Taylor Beaty; Sister-in-law, Ruth Flumerfelt; Special Nieces and Nephews: Ruth Zachel and Beate, Heinz & Chris Hublitz from Germany
