Robert Dale Hill

Chief Warrant Officer 5 Robert Dale Hill, U.S. Army (Ret.),78, of Lake Park, Georgia, died April 6, 2023. He was born February 26, 1945, to Robert J. Hill and Geraldine Brown. Robert Hill enlisted in the United States Army in 1962 where he served two tours in Vietnam as a combat medic and Huey pilot. His achievements were met with excellence. He was one of the first to be pinned as the new rank of CWO5. Robert served his country for 37 years of active duty, across multiple theaters, retiring with distinction from the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft Bragg North Carolina in 1998. Robert Dale Hill began his second career serving as the Train Master for Aberdeen & Rockfish Railroad Co. (a short line RR) where he retired a second time after 15 years. In his spare time his hobbies were road course racing and being a car guys race instructor. He was a member of the National NRA and member of the local chapter Cape Fear Friends of the NRA. He was always helping and serving to support the community that included volunteering on occasion with Balm in Gilead Community Center.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert Dale Hill, Jr (Gina), his brothers Gene (Donna), Larry, Richard (Kerma), and Tommy. He is survived by his wife, Denise Beebe Hill of Lake Park, Ga, his daughters Patricia Miller (Joey) of Big Rock, TN, Tiffany Heard (John) of Memphis, TN, and Dr. Regan Williams of Memphis, TN, and is sisters Barbara Ramirez (Bill) and Kimberly Craver (Doc). He leaves behind his grandchildren Kassidy Kuehne, Robert Hill, Matthew Hill, David Miller, Josh Miller (Chloe), Frank Neblett (Taylor), Christopher Neblett (Elaine), Tyler Neblett, Rhodes Heard, Lily Kate Heard, Hill Heard, Glenn Williams, Hudson Williams, and Sophia Williams as well as 11 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Music Funeral Home in Valdosta, GA. There will be a service at Balm in Gilead in Fayetteville NC where the memorial will proceed at Sandhills Veterans State Cemetery at Ft. Bragg, NC at 3:00pm April 28, 2023.
