Robert Lee Jefferson

Robert L. (Jeff) Jefferson was born in Ocala, Florida in July of 1947, he is the son of Paul and Daisy Jefferson, the Grandson of Benjamin and Phyllis Jefferson, the Great Grandson of Ishmael and Lillie Jefferson and the Great Great Grandson of Henry and Peggy Jefferson.

Jeff married Estella Barnes of Miami, Florida August of 1972, they have two daughters: Dashanti Lawhorn and LaKeisha Jefferson Ball and one grandson Marcellus Lawhorn.

He finished Booker T. Washington High School in Miami, Florida and received degrees from the Community College of the Air Force, University of Minnesota, and Valdosta State University.

Jeff is a Vietnam Vet who served in the Air Force from 1967 to 1987 with his final active-duty assignment being Moody Air Force Base, Georgia.

After retiring from the military, he settled in Valdosta, Georgia and continued to serve his country as a Civil Servant employee at Moody Air Force Base starting in 1988 and retiring in 2013.

Jeff passed from this chapter of his being on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sisters and brothers.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Estella; his daughters, Dashanti Lawhorn and LaKeisha Jefferson Ball and son-in-law, Ronarde Ball; his grandson, Marcellus Lawhorn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.
