"Bob"
Of Valdosta, GA passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, July 28, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on December 3, 1926 in Whitesburg, KY to Bill and Claudia Jenkins Hall. Bob graduated from Cumberland High School in 1945. He went into the United States Army and served our country which he loved. Upon leaving the Army, he became a State Trooper for the state of Kentucky and served for three years. He was elected in 1953 to serve as a Representative for the Kentucky State House of Representatives where he held office until 1962. Bob went on to be elected as the Sheriff of Harlan County, Kentucky which he served two terms. He then became Chief of Police in Cumberland, KY. In 1969 he became a United States Marshall until he retired in 1991.
A lot of people knew Bob for all his law enforcement works and all the stories he could tell. He was married to his wife, Rose, for 42 years in which both reside in Valdosta. Bob was a family man and loved his sports. In high school he played football and basketball. And being from Kentucky his team was Kentucky Wildcats. He loved football season and would get a little upset when his Kentucky Wildcats would lose a game. Bob is an accomplished public servant and a loved family man and leaves behind a legacy and example to others. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Hall, Ralph Hall, Billy Hall, Ike Hall, and two daughters, Judy Allen Pettigrew and Debbie Allen King.
Survivors include his loving Wife of 42 years, Rose Hall of Valdosta, GA; Daughter & Son-In-Law, Pam & Scott Garner of Valdosta, GA; Son, Eric Hall of Texas; 5 Grandchildren, Douglas, Kristin, Matthew, Trent, Melissa; 7 Great Grandchildren, London, Reese, Jaxson, Bristol, Briggs, Peyton, Dalton, & another one on the way, Hudson; and one very special dedicated housekeeper, Rita Denson Wolfe.
Graveside services will be held 4:00PM on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Music Funeral Services in Valdosta, GA from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
