Robert Harold Powers

Of Hawkinsville, GA passed away Thursday evening, September 29, 2011 in the Holly Hill Nursing Home in Valdosta, Georgia. He was born October 28, 1942 to the late Marcus and Flora Kirkland Powers in Brooks County, Georgia. He served in the United State Army with a tour in Vietnam where he received the purple heart and four bronze stars. He was a Fabricator working in a Steel Plant and was a member of the American Legion Hawkinsville Post 125. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcus Flora Kirkland Powers, 4 sisters, Stella Harnage, Della Samples, Julie Simmons, Sally Virginia Powers, and 3 brothers, James Powers, Howard Hughes, and Willis Powers.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services and burial will follow in the New Ramah Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
