Robert Julian Robinson

Of Lakeland, passed away December 11, 2007 in the Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland after declining health for some time. He was born March 8, 1926, in Lanier County to the late Mary Magdalene Crum Robinson and Julian Robinson . He served his country in the Army Air Force. Mr. Robinson owned and operated Robinson’s Service Station from 1951 until his retirement in 1996. During his time in business he was President of Lakeland Merchants Association and was nominated Flatlanders Business Man of the Year. He served on the Lanier Co. Board of Health, Lanier County Housing Authority, Chief Registrar for Lanier County Board of Elections, President of Lanier County Lions Club and was a Volunteer with the Lakeland Fire Department and local Fire Marshall. He was a member of First Baptist Church Lakeland. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Bridges Robinson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Donations maybe made to the Renovation Fund First Baptist Church Lakeland.
