Robert Jesse Shaffer

Robert J. “Bob” Shaffer – 86
Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on November 30, 1930 in Hollidaysburg, PA to Jesse and Rosella (Delozier) Shaffer. He retired after proudly serving ten years in the United States Air Force and ten years in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Westside Baptist Church of Valdosta. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Williams Shaffer (Shirley), his brother Ben R. Shaffer (Joan), his brother, Ted P. Shaffer (Lucia), his brother Lynn Lee Shaffer and a sister, Margaret Stavanus.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Annie Lee Shaffer of Valdosta, GA; Daughters and sons-in-law, Julia E. & Jimmy Scruggs of Valdosta, GA; Cheryl L. & Paul Webb of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren, Jimbo & Jodi Scruggs, Kimberley & Jon Howell, Sharon & Stewart Brave Heart, Sarah Lynne Zambelli, Matthew & Angie Webb, Elizabeth & Nathan Willis; Great Grandchildren: Zackary Parker, Kaiya Brave Heart, J.T. Howell, Tyler Howell, Aubrie Scruggs, Cooper Scruggs, Madison Stripling, Maelani Zambelli, Annalise Webb; Sisters, Betty Rae Wesselink of Rock Hill, SC; Anita Schultz of Johnstown, PA; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Westside Baptist Church of Valdosta with burial to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the Church. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
