Robert “Bobby Z” Raymond Ziolkowski, Jr.
April 23, 1971 – October 27, 2023
Robert Raymond Ziolkowski, 52, of Valdosta, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 27, 2023, at his home after a long-term battle with cancer. Bobby was born on April 23, 1971, in Blackshear, Georgia to Robert Raymond Ziolkowski, Sr. and the late Gladys Warnell (Beagle) Ziolkowski.
Bobby practiced the Catholic faith and as a child was proud to serve as an altar boy. He initially attended Georgia Southern University where he participated on the football scout team. He later transferred to and graduated from Valdosta State University in 1994. While attending VSU, he joined the brotherhood of Delta Chi Fraternity. He took pride in being one of the first VSU male football cheerleaders and was known for his “Turtle” cartwheel. After graduation, he felt a sense of accomplishment in maintaining pools and spas for various commercial resorts throughout Florida.
Bobby radiated happiness and his uplifting sense of humor would light up the room. He was always positive and while going through treatments was honored to be asked to motivate and encourage other patients. Bobby had an artistic side and enjoyed writing poetry, building and creating all types of crafts, and decorating the entire house for every holiday. He was a collector of watches and shoes and used his talents to design a pair of Vans that were known and sold as “The BobbyZ Shoe”. Other activities he enjoyed were going to the beach, listening to music, being outdoors, fishing, and planning fun cookouts for his friends.
Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Stan Stipe; grandparents: Foden and Beulah Jeffords and Raymond and Francis Ziolkowski; three aunts: Libby Knowles, Betty Haskett, and Kitty Rokos.
Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Shanna Ziolkowski of Valdosta, Georgia; his father, Robert Ziolkowski of Waycross, Georgia; sisters: Jennie Stipe of Jacksonville, Florida and Debbie Dixon (Tim) of Adel, Georgia; aunt: Peggy Yong (Gary) of Burr Ridge, Illinois; uncles: T. Warren Beagle (Barbara) of Waycross, Georgia, Phil Haskett of Cape Coral, Florida, Ed Rokos of Chicago, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
As per his wishes, Bobby will be cremated, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at
