Robertina Ina Kirkland 77
Of Valdosta and formerly Akron, Ohio passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 after a long illness. Mrs. Kirkland was born in Clyde Bank, Scotland on April 4, 1930 to the late John & Mary Lynch. Mrs. Kirkland was a homemaker and dedicated employee and union steward at Akron City Hospital working many years until her retirement. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Akron, Ohio and a member of the Scottish Clan. She was a caring wife, loving and supportive mother, grandmother and friend who touched the lives of so many people. She had no fear of what was to come for her faith in the Lord was strong and sure. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kirkland; brothers, James, John, Alec, and a sister, Betty.
Survivors include: Sons & Daughters-in-law: Robert & Darlene Kirkland of Greene, OH, Kenneth & Ruth Kirkland of Warner Robins, GA; Daughter & Son-in-law: Linda & Paul Harris of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren: Brian, Michelle, Jonathan all of Greene, Ohio, Elizabeth of Warner Robins, GA, Matthew Ashley, Lindsey, Jessica all of Valdosta, GA; Great Grandson: Trent of Valdosta, GA; Sisters: Sissy Morris all of Glasgow, Scotland, Mary Wilson, Isabelle McLaughlin, and a number of nephews and nieces
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in Akron, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Perimeter Road Baptist Church, 4091 Inner Perimeter Road, Valdosta, GA 31602.
