Roger Phillip Eason
78 years, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his home in Valdosta. He was born in Valdosta, GA on April 11, 1946, to the late S. W. and Eugenia (Martini) Eason. He is proceeded in death by his parents and a brother, Doug Eason.
He is survived by his daughter, Christy Eason Vaccaro of Hammond, LA, a son, Seth Eason of Valdosta, GA and a grandson, Chandler Vaccaro, also of Hammond, LA.
Roger attended Valdosta City Schools and graduated with the Valdosta High School Class of 1964. While at VHS, he played on the baseball team. He worked over 20 years with Bosh Olds-Buick GMC Dealership of Valdosta as a service writer in the service department. Roger also spent some time, before his retirement, with the Prince Automotive Group of Valdosta also as a service writer.
Roger played recreational softball for close to 40 years. He was known by most as “Seven” which was the number that he always wore on his jersey. He played 2nd base, pitched, and was an incredible hitter, winning multiply MPV awards during his softball career. He played for the Judd Godwin Buick Team, the Valdosta Budweiser Team, the Southern Merchants Team, the Thornton Logging Team, and others over the years. Roger loved his softball family.
Roger was a huge fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs, and enjoyed watching college football games with his buddies, during the fall.
Roger never met a stranger and had many friends that he loved and enjoyed spending time with every day.
