Roger Floyd Smith – 62
Of Valdosta passed away on February 13, 2022 in the South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on January 5, 1960 to Ed Smith and Janice Carolyn Roark. He was the owner of Smith Portable Buildings, loved fishing, hunting and woodworking. In addition to this parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws Jim and Mary Crosby, as well as several aunts and cousins.
Survivors include: loving wife of 20 years Deana Reed-Smith of Valdosta; daughters Brandi and Jeff Duda of Quitman, Georgia; Dana Smith of Valdosta, Georgia; son Brock Reed of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Roger A. Smith of Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren, Erin Baker, Cole Baker, Cale Baker, and Rosalie Smith; step-father Everett “Baldy” Roark, Jr of Valdosta, Georgia; four brothers, Everett Roark III (Pam) of Valdosta, Georgia, Jeff Roark (Angie) of Valdosta, Georgia, Alan Smith (Rachel) of Indiana, Donny Smith of Indiana; in-laws, Joe and Betty Wheeler of Quitman, Georgia, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 o’clock P.M. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery with interment following. The family will receive friends at the funeral on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that no flowers be sent and that contributions be made at
