Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, FL. He was born on January 28, 1935 in North Liberty, IN to the late Matthew and Dora (Naragon) Whitmer. Mr. Whitmer was a carpenter and owned his own mobile home business. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Whitmer, Bert Whitmer, Jerry Whitmer, and a sister, Bonnie Hendrick.
Survivors include his Wife of 61 years Rita Whitmer of Valdosta, GA, his Sons & Daughter-in-laws,
Dale Whitmer & Friend, Missy Dumas, of Valdosta, GA, David & Anita Whitmer of Valdosta, GA,
Karl & Shannon Whitmer of Valdosta, GA, Robert & Renee Whitmer of Valdosta, GA, Paul & Cynthia Whitmer of Valdosta, GA, Daughter, Janet & Wade Bennett of Valdosta, GA; 33 Grandchildren; 26 Great Grandchildren; Brothers & Sister-in-law, Eugene Whitmer of NY, James & Theresa Whitmer of IN;
Sisters & Brother-in-law, Evelyn Gardner of IN, Linda Borton of IN, Susan & Terry Boswell of AZ,

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Riverview Memorial Gardens with burial to follow in the cemetery.
