Ron Big Daddy" Brotz - 64
Of Columbus, MS., passed away Tuesday May 23, 2006 at his residence after a sudden illness. Mr. Brotz was born November 17, 1941 in Englewood, New Jersey. During his 21 years of service in the United States Army he served in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He retired as a Staff Sergeant. After retiring from the Army, Mr. Brotz worked with Dyncorp in Columbus, MS as an aircraft mechanic. Mr. Brotz loved to fish, hunt and play with model trains. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He would always pull some sort of a surprise on his grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and DAV.
Survivors include: Wife, Judy Brotz , Valdosta, Daughters & Son-in-law Dawn Marie Friesz, Valdosta, Kimberly & Rob Brotz-Netherton Valdosta, Son, Anthony Scocco, Tampa, Fl, 7 Grandchildren; Christopher, Shad, Skylar, Thomas, Cameron, Alexis and Aubrey, Sister& Brother-in-law, Loretta & Joseph Pillari, New Jersey.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Riverview Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be rendered. The family received friends this evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
