Ronald David Talley, 77, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at his home. Born on August 12, 1947, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Elliott Lee Talley and Dorothy Kemper Talley.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and after his military service, he returned to his hometown of Chattanooga. He pursued his higher education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga before transferring to the Medical University of South Carolina, where he earned his Physician Assistant degree. Ron spent the majority of his career serving with the Federal Department of Justice, where he eventually retired.
A man of many interests, Ron enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and collecting a variety of items. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Ron was a dedicated Tennessee Volunteers fan, and orange was his signature color.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to service, and his passion for life.
Along with his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Beasley and his sister, Barbara Byers.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Linda Harnage Talley of Valdosta, Georgia; son, David Talley (Kenda) of Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren: Sarah, Dawson, Peyton, Hunter, Hayden, Holden, Cade and Hayden B.; sister, Pat Saynes of Chattanooga, Tennessee; mother-in-law, Ethel Floyd of Valdosta, Georgia and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta.
