Rosalyn Daniels Sumner, 92, of Lake Park, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 18, 2026, at Fellowship Home at Brookside in Valdosta. She was born on October 15, 1933, in Hahira, Georgia, to the late Henry Earl and Sallie Emma Daniels.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and educator, Rosalyn lived a life rooted in faith, service, and love. She was a proud graduate of Hahira High School and went on to further her education at the University of Georgia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She then pursued her master’s degree from Georgia Southern University. Her deep love for children was evident throughout her career, and her passion for teaching left a lasting impact on countless young lives.

Following her retirement, Rosalyn and her beloved husband embraced the joy of travel, exploring destinations across the United States and abroad, creating cherished memories together.

Strong in her faith, Rosalyn was a devoted member of Francis Lake Baptist Church, where she faithfully served and worshiped alongside her husband.

In addition to her parents, Rosalyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 68 years, Robert Thomas Sumner, and their daughter, Kathie Lynn Sumner.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Kae Sumner; six grandsons, Stevie Shadron (April), Jason Shadron (Michele), Harrison Fishco, Barry Fishco, Jonathan Fishco, and Zachary Fishco; one great-granddaughter, Mayson Shadron; and two great-grandsons, Cameron Shadron and Weston Shadron.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2026 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Rosalyn. Kind words and sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com. The Sumner family is being cared for by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services, Azalea Crematory of Valdosta.
