Roscoe Major Bennett

Of Hahira, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born April 12, 1944 in Lanier County, Georgia to the late Major Lee and Gladys Brogdon Bennett. He has served as a Minister for 30 years and was currently serving as the pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Cecil. He was instrumental in helping get other churches started and the ordination of several ministers. He was dedicated to God, his family and his church. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Lakeland Masonic Lodge #434.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Cecil with the Dr. Danny Ray, Pastor Michael Sarasola and Rev. Murrell Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Lovejoy Cemetery in Lanier County. In honor of his dedication and love for God and his church he will be placed in the church two hours prior to service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
