Roy Alton Smith- 90
Of Lakeland, GA passed away after a lengthy illness on November 7, 2015 at Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center. He was born on June 22, 1925 in Hazlehurst, GA to the late Ezra and Lottie Gay Smith. He served his country for over 27 years in the United States Navy and in the United States Air Force. He served in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hazlehurst GA. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Omie Smith and a number of brothers and sisters.
Survivors Include: Sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Linda Smith, Broxton, GA, Jerry and Kay Smith, Russia, Tommy Smith, Lakeland, GA; Grandchildren: Kristy Bean, Brandon Smith and Arlo Smith Renee; 5 Great grandchildren; Sister, Maxine Brown, LaGrange, GA and a number of nieces and nephews
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 11:00AM in the Central Baptist Church Cemetery, 748 Central Baptist Church Rd, Douglas, GA. No formal visitation will be held.
