Roy Leonard Long – 74
Of Valdosta passed away Monday, September 8, 2008 in South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on February 5, 1934 Richmond, Ohio to the late Dio C. & Martha Bell O'Dell Long. Roy retired from TrusJoist in 1988 and started raising cows and cutting hay for himself and neighbors. Roy was always there with help or advice if you needed help and sometimes even if you didn't. He was a kind hearted man and will be missed by all that knew him. Mr. Long is preceded in death by his brother, Dio Cecil Long, Jr. and a sister, Elsie Dawson
Survivors include: Wife of 29 years, Billie V. Long, Valdosta, GA, Step Children:Julie LaBree, Valdosta, GA, Sandra Wolfe, California, Randy McConnel, Tennessee, 4 grand children , 3 great grandchildren, Brother, Ross Edward Long, Bullhead City, AZ
The family will have a pot luck gathering at the home, for friends and family on Saturday, September 13, 2008 to celebrate his life.
