Ruby Jones

Of Lakeland, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital. She was born January 16, 1922, in Colquitt County to the late Ida Mae Daughtry and Marvin Thornburg. She worked as a sales clerk and then later became a substitute Teacher for the Lanier County Board of Education. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ray City and the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron 7 times. She is preceded in death by her husband Ben Jones; a daughter, Robbie Jean Wilson and a brother Ed Thornburg.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church Ray City with burial following in Beaver Dam Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 9, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
