Rufus Jelon Roe – 85
Of Lakeland, passed away Tuesday, March 01, 2011, in the South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Lanier County on November 11, 1925 to the late Andrew Jackson and Wealthy Anderson Roe. He was a farmer and worked for the Lanier County School systems as a bus driver for numerous years. He was a member of the Stockton Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Spells Roe and son, James Andrew "Pete" Roe.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial in Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
