Ruth Blair, 98, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, March 2, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. She was born on October 30, 1926, in Cleveland, Tennessee, to Charles and Martha (Crow) Underwood. Ruth lived her life with a simplicity and grace that touched everyone she met. A woman of quiet strength and deep independence, she never asked for anything from anyone, choosing instead to find joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life. Ruth's kindness and humble nature were evident in everything she did.
Although she lived modestly, there was one indulgence she cherished each month—a warm, home-cooked meal at Mama June’s, where she could relax and savor the comfort of good food and good company. Ruth’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, a testament to a life well-lived with dignity, humility, and love.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, George William Blair, and her sisters, Leila Underwood and Edna Anderson.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
