Ruth Shiver Lindauer – 99
Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on January 25, 1918 in Jennings, FL to the late Isaac and Hattie Padgett Shiver. She was an active member of the First Christian Church where she sang in the in the choir, participated in the Christian Women’s Fellowship, served on the church board, and was an elder emeritus. She was an accomplished gardener, avid fisherman, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She served as a Pink Lady at South Georgia Medical Center for forty years. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband, Maurice W. Lindauer; Sisters, Mildred Shiver, Nellie Tyre, Edith Johnson, Christine Bogan, Helen Brand; Brothers, Kenneth Shiver, John Edwin Shiver, Isaac Shiver, Jr.
Survivors include: Daughters & Son-in-laws, Jane & Lamar Elder of Hazlehurst, GA; Rosemary & Bill Brannen of Valdosta, GA; Son, Maurice Jack Lindauer of Elijay, GA; Sisters, Marian Hudson of Lake City, FL; Amarylis Burchette of Tampa, FL; Grandchildren: Jennifer Hufford, Jonathan Elder (Erin), Ben Brannen (Jodi), Rebecca Karlowicz (Brian), Ashley Lindauer, Lauren Lindauer and Austin Lindauer. Great Grandchildren: Cole Hufford, Marin Karlowicz and Lilly Brannen.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at First Christian Church of Valdosta with the Rev. Georgia Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the First Christian Church of Valdosta, 1905 N. Patterson St, Valdosta, GA 31602.
