Ruth Spell Stalvey

Ruth Arlette (Spell) Stalvey – 91 Of Valdosta, GA passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on March 23, 1927 in Ray City, GA to the late William and Lillie (Purvis) Spell. Ruth was a machinist at Metal Products until her retirement. Mrs. Stalvey was a member of Charity Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending her days fishing, gardening, and reading. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Stalvey, son, Steve Stalvey, grandson, Jason Gibson; sisters: Mary Lee-Rountree, Lowell Cowart, Dorothy Cooper, Irene Gregory, Hazel Whitehead; brothers: Harvey Spell, Yulee Spell, and Bobby Don Spell.
Survivors include: 3 Daughters & Sons-in-laws: Phyllis & Carlis “Randy” Stephens, Hahira, GA, Beverly Gibson, Valdosta, GA, Donna & Phillip Connell, Naylor, GA; 3 Sons and Daughter-in-laws: Eddy & Sandra Stalvey, Valdosta, GA, Joey & Judy Stalvey, Hahira, GA, Mike & Minnie Stalvey, Hahira, GA; 13 Grandchildren: Carla Delk (Brian), Shad Stephens (Lacey), Shane Stephens (Caroline), Derrick Connell (Kelly), Colby Connell, Lori Haines, Mika Brogdon (Scotty), Ashley Turner (Josh), Tabitha Barber (Jason), Jim Davis Johnson (Rickey), Cassie “C.J.” Wisenbaker (Jake), Steven Stalvey, Jamie Stalvey, Jennifer Bramley (Roy), Jennifer Gibson; 25 Great Grandchildren;1 Great Great Grandchild; Daughter-in-law: Loudine Stalvey; Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law: Nancy & Freddy Stalvey, Hahira, GA; 3 Sisters-in law: Phyllis Spell, Valdosta, GA, Brenda Stalvey, Fort Walton, Fl., Margie McClelland, Adel, GA.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 22, 2019, in the Charity Baptist Church with burial following in the Friendship Cemetery. Ms. Stalvey will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to the services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the funeral home.
